This guide provides answers to common questions and concerns regarding sexual orientation, gender identity, and gender expression.  It also includes an up-to-date list of resources, including hotline numbers, other organizations, and more.

This resource from the Trevor Project can help you navigate your own coming out experience in a safe, thoughtful way.

From Planned Parenthood, an organization that delivers vital reproductive health care, sex education, and information to millions of women, men, and young people worldwide.

Transgender Law Center works to change law, policy, and attitudes so that all people can live safely, authentically, and free from discrimination regardless of their gender identity or expression.  The TRUTH project is a collaboration between Transgender Law Center and GSA Network, and aims to build empathy, understanding, and a movement for youth to share their stories in their own words and in their own way.

Everyone Is Gay provides honest advice to LGBTQ youth; talks to students in an effort to create caring, compassionate school environments; and workl with families & educators of LGBTQIA kids to help foster an ongoing dialogue and deeper understanding.

Colorado State University's Pride Resource Center provides resources and support regarding sexual orientation, gender, and identity intersection.

VideoOut is a library of coming out stories told by the LGBTQ community that exists to amplify the voices of people across the spectrum of the LGBTQ community.

Trevor Space connects young people all over the world.  Youth can get support and advice on big or small issues and discover communities that share their interests.  Youth can also access the Trevor Support Center to find answers to frequently asked questions and explore resources!

The Book Nook showcases LGBTQ family-friendly books, from picture books to books for parents themselves. Beyond the virtual bookshelves, the Book Nook will also feature monthly interviews with authors who write the stories you’ll find on the Book Nook page.

The It Gets Better Project works in all forms of media to bring messages of hope to LGBT youth and to spark conversations about the challenges they confront.  The project has a library of over 50,000 videos, as well as many other resources.

The Point Foundation seeks to foster a greater level of acceptance, respect, and tolerance for all persons in society, and to build a community of socially active leaders. Point does this through scholarship funding, mentorship, leadership development, and community service training, and is the nation’s largest scholarship-granting organization for LGBTQ students of merit.

Matthew's Place includes regular blogs young people making a difference in their own communities, interviews with individuals in the LGBT and allied community and an in-depth list of shelters, outreach centers, and empowerment programs.
